Productivity Hacks That Actually Work

Do you find your workday slipping away and projects dragging on for longer than they should? You might need to re-think the structure of your workday and sneak in some of these productivity hacks.

Eat the Frog

Mark Twain was quoted saying “Eat a live frog first thing in the morning and nothing worse will happen to you the rest of the day.” If there is a task you have been putting off for whatever reason, try to get it off your plate first thing in the morning.

Don’t Multitask — Focus

Interruptions happen, but you’ll be able to watch your productivity soar if you can focus and complete one task at a time instead of dividing your attention between multiple activities.

Block Your Time

Have you ever started checking your email and found yourself an hour later wondering where the time has gone? Try designating small chunks of time to do small tasks like checking voicemails and emails.

Make a To Do List the Night Before

Before you get ready for bed, make a to-do list for the next day. Doing this will allow you to hit the ground running the next morning instead of wondering where you should start. It also could help you fall asleep faster since you have a plan in place for the day ahead.

Turn Off Notifications

If you are easily distracted, consider turning off notifications for things like Facebook, games, and other apps that disrupt your day. It will be there when you take a break.

Learn How to Say No

Sometimes, even though it’s not easy or fun, you have to say no in order to protect your time and productivity. This is not to say that you shouldn’t help out if you are able, but if your workday is slammed you have to be able to focus on what is most important.

Regardless of your industry or profession, it pays to maximize your efforts so you can maximize your growth. We hope that these productivity hacks help you feel accomplished at the end of your day and make life a bit easier.
